Biography

Ms. DeRosa’s practice encompasses all aspects of energy and environmental law, including counseling and assistance relating to compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Practice Co-Leader of Brown Rudnick’s Energy Team, she has counseled utility companies on a variety of environmental and regulatory matters.

Ms. DeRosa has been involved in the acquisition, restructure and development of various electric generating facilities. She has counseled corporate and institutional clients on the environmental implications of financing, corporate and real estate transactions. Ms. DeRosa has represented numerous clients who have remediated and redeveloped industrial and commercial sites into productive and marketable properties. She has also represented contractors and construction companies in evaluating and effectively addressing environmental issues for residential, commercial and industrial developments. In addition, Ms. DeRosa has experience with the State and Federal Regulatory Agencies and municipal Planning and Zoning Boards.

Ms. DeRosa is a member of the Firm's Management Committee.

Representative Matters
• Represent PSEG in connection with its New Haven Harbor and Bridgeport Harbor electric generating stations on regulatory, permitting and compliance matters. Previously represented Wisvest, a subsidiary of Wisconsin Electric, on its acquisition of these generation assets, which were divested by The United Illuminating Company, and post-acquisition representation of Wisvest relating to ongoing operations at both facilities. Subsequently represented Wisvest on the sale of these generation assets to PSEG.

• Represent Milford Power Company, LLC in connection with its electric generation facility in Connecticut, including regulatory, permitting, and compliance matters. Instrumental in obtaining regulatory approvals and permit transfers for the facility when it was transferred from El Paso Energy to a consortium of the company’s lenders.

• Represent the City of Meriden, Connecticut in connection with land transfer and regulatory issues associated with the NRG proposed 544 megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle electric generation project in Meriden, Connecticut.

• Represent Harbor Point Development, LLC on redevelopment of numerous brownfields sites exceeding 100 acres in Stamford, Connecticut’s Southend. This project represents one of the largest residential, mixed-use urban developments in Connecticut.

• Recipient, Connecticut Secretary of State’s 2003 Public Service Award for service on the State of Connecticut Natural Heritage, Open Space & Watershed Land Acquisition Review Board

• Listed in New York Magazine in as one of the best energy and environmental lawyers in the New York Metropolitan area

• Listed in Woodward/White Inc.'s The Best Lawyers in America for Environmental Law and Energy Law

• Guest Lecturer at the University of Michigan in 2007 on Brownfields Redevelopment
