The Interview Process
Our Firm is a special place, and we want to keep it that way. Our Hiring Committee is highly selective, and we seek candidates who are intellectually curious, hard-working, pragmatic, and always honest and ethical. Our attorneys are highly collaborative and passionate about practicing law. We seek candidates who are upbeat, energetic, and excited to become a part of our Firm, with the ability and the desire to advance the firm both intellectually and as a business.
We believe that diversity in attorney backgrounds engenders diversity of thought, advances problem solving, and enriches our collective experience as colleagues. We recruit intentionally with a view to always having a widely diverse attorney population. We seek candidates who appreciate that people make up a firm, and that a firm’s history, values, and culture are important, and who we believe will become integral members of our law firm family. We generally recruit our entry-level associates via career fairs and On-Campus Interview Programs held at law school campuses around the United States. We recruit students entering their second year of law school and additionally sponsor a 1L Social Mobility Diversity Fellowship.
Our attorneys are excited to meet you on-campus and in our offices. These interviews give us the opportunity to get to know you better, and for you to determine whether working at Brown Rudnick is the next best step in your career trajectory. At Brown Rudnick, we rely on Competency-based Behavioral Interviewing (or “CBBI”, for short) to better predict fit and odds of success at the Firm, while also helping us mitigate the effects of unconscious biases on the interview process. CBBI may feel strange if you are not used to it. Don’t worry! It truly is one of the best ways for you to talk about your accomplishments. If we are not attending an interview program near you, you can still apply online for a summer associate position. Due to the volume of applications we receive, however, we will not be able to reply to your individual application unless we decide to move forward with your candidacy.
We have concluded the 2018-19 summer associate recruitment process. At this time, we are not accepting applications for 2018 or 2019 first-year associates.
