Biography

Ashley E. Smith is a Law Clerk in the White Collar Defense & Government Investigations group.

Ashley is a certified public accountant in the state of California. Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Ashley was an auditor in Ernst & Young’s assurance services group where she performed quarterly reviews and annual audits of public and private companies in various industries. Ashley also formerly managed SEC reporting for two public companies in the Sacramento, California area.

During law school, Ashley interned for Commissioner Hester M. Peirce at the SEC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. where she reviewed enforcement actions and advised the commissioner of the appropriateness of the Division of Enforcement’s recommended action. She served as a Primary Managing Editor of The University of the Pacific Law Review, and earned Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence in Legal Research and Writing, Business Associations, Contracts, and Remedies and Principles of Law.
