Intellectual Property


Marla Mellino is an associate in Brown Rudnick’s Intellectual Property practice. Her practice includes the counseling of clients with respect to their intellectual property. She is experienced in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, performing legal research, and preparing clearance, patentability, and validity opinions across a wide range of technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, microfluidics, medical devices, chemicals, and consumer products. Her experience also includes pre-ANDA clearances for FDA submission, preparing and prosecuting trademark applications and drafting and negotiating various intellectual property-related business agreements.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Marla was both a coatings chemist with the Sherwin-Williams Company and a technical sales specialist with Q-Lab Corporation.

Prior to joining Brown Rudnick, Marla served as an intellectual property attorney at Pearne & Gordon LLP in Cleveland, Ohio.
