NEW YORK – January 11, 2018 – International law firm Brown Rudnick is pleased to announce that it has joined the 30% Club, a global campaign of member Chairs and CEOs who are committed to achieving gender balance in the highest ranks of their organizations.

The 30% Club launched in the United Kingdom in 2010 with a goal of raising the percentage of women who are on FTSE-100 boards from 12.5% to 30% by 2015. Today, 27.6% of the board members on the FTSE-100 are women.

The 30% Club has since expanded to include eight chapters, including the United States, and non-publically traded companies such as law and private investment firms. Their stated goal for partnerships is to achieve 30% women equity partners by 2020.

Brown Rudnick has joined the 30% Club’s United States and United Kingdom chapters. Brown Rudnick CEO Joseph F. Ryan and London Managing Partner Neil Micklethwaite will serve as Brown Rudnick’s member representatives in the US and UK, respectively, and Partners Sunni Beville and Jane Colston will be the Steering Committee representatives. In these roles, both Sunni and Jane will work with the 30% Club to:

  • Help coordinate the Firm’s participation in 30% Club events, which are intended to develop momentum and evolve thinking around advancing women
  • Attend Steering Committee meetings
  • Share effective innovations and devise new collaborative actions for advancing women
  • Work with other related groups committed to advancing women

"We strongly believe that women should play a major role  in shaping the growth and success of our organization. Having more women in leadership roles will strengthen our firm, enhance our culture of inclusion and expand our external business opportunities ", said Sunni Beville, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Partner. Firm leadership is proud to share that 30% of our equity partners in London are women. While our other offices have not yet reached this goal, by partnering with 30% Club, Brown Rudnick has committed to achieve 30% women equity partners firmwide.
