BOSTON (September 1, 2015) – International law firm Brown Rudnick represented Henley Invesments, a U.K. private equity real estate firm, in a $100 million transaction with WaterWalk Hotel Apartments to develop five WaterWalk franchise properties in the United States.
This is the first time that WaterWalk has entered into a franchise agreement with an investor outside the Untied States, and also the first time that Henley, founded in 2006, has inked a transatlantic deal.
Henley will build properties on sites located in Florida, New York and North Carolina. The WaterWalk model incorporates hotel and apartment living that combines traditional hotel services and upscale amenities. Construction is expected to start in January 2016.
The Brown Rudnick team was led by partners Paul Laudano in the U.S. and Lena Hodge in the U.K.
