PUBLISHED ON: 04/01/2019
New York – April 1, 2019 – Brown Rudnick LLP announced today that Steven Einhorn has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Tax Practice Group. He was previously at Proskauer Rose LLP in its Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice.
Einhorn’s practice is built upon a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including handling companies’ employee benefits and executive compensation arrangements in the context of mergers & acquisitions and other forms of business transactions and reorganizations. "Steven not only brings a superb technical ability, but also a practical approach to problem-solving that is at the heart of our firm and Tax Practice philosophy,” said Vince Guglielmotti, Chair of Brown Rudnick’s Tax Practice Group. “His collegial, entrepreneurial and team oriented-approach to serving clients tied with his background advising in both distressed and traditional business transactions make him a valuable addition to our team,” added Guglielmotti.
Einhorn represents both employers and senior executives in the negotiations and drafting of employment agreements, equity compensation arrangements, severance agreements, nonqualified deferred compensation agreements and other compensation arrangements. In addition, Einhorn counsels clients on the design, implementation and ongoing concerns of employee benefit plans.
Einhorn reunites with Partner Rachel Wolkinson, who joined the firm in February, also from Proskauer. Einhorn will be the fifth partner in the firm’s Tax Practice Group.
“Steven will expand our ability to advise clients on sophisticated employee benefits and executive compensation matters, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the firm,” said Sam Williams, Managing Director of Brown Rudnick’s Corporate & Capital Markets Department. “Steven will play a key role in further enhancing our global transaction capabilities, pairing his thorough transactional experience with his employee benefits and executive compensation background,” added Williams. Einhorn also has an active practice advising charities and tax-exempt organizations with respect to employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
“I am excited to join Brown Rudnick. I was drawn to the firm’s international capabilities and sophisticated transactional and restructuring practice, which I believe is a tremendous platform for continuing to grow my employee benefits and executive compensation practice,” said Einhorn. “In turn, with my experience,
these are areas within the firm where I can make a meaningful contribution,” he added.
Einhorn received his LL.M. from New York University of Law and his J.D. cum laude from Baylor University School of Law. Additional biographical information and credentials are available here.
