Michael Dolan is a partner in the Firm's Real Estate and Corporate Practice Groups and is known for being a versatile legal advisor. He develops business for many departments within the Firm, such as the Corporate, Real Estate, Private Equity, Litigation & Arbitration, and Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Groups. Throughout his career, Michael has represented public and private corporations in a wide array of transactions with respect to general business and corporate issues.
Michael's practice is concentrated on commercial real estate, secured lending, and telecommunications, representing many clients on a national basis in a wide range of transactions that includes the build-out of telecommunications and fiber optic networks and infrastructure, commercial leasing and development, zoning and land use, as well as traditional and structured real estate finance and work-outs.
Michael served as a law clerk to the Honorable Donald F. Shea of the Rhode Island Supreme Court from September 1989 through August 1990.
Representation of national wireless communications companies in developing over 3,000 antenna facilities throughout New England, including negotiating leases, options, and easements; obtaining required zoning, land use, environmental, historic, and wetlands approvals; resolving title and utility access issues; and developing related litigation strategies, as necessary.
Representation of a global fiber optic company in negotiating, drafting, and securing multi-state rights-of-way and easements in connection with the build-out of one of the country’s largest fiber optic networks and assisting in the development of related permitting and land-use strategies and protocol implementation.
Representation of a Rhode Island housing agency as lender in connection with structuring, negotiating, documenting, and closing various loan transactions for development projects totaling in excess of $1 billion dollars for low and moderate income, multi-family and elderly housing as well as assisted living facilities.
Representation of New England health care and banking clients in connection with the purchase, lease, construction, and/or management of new and expanded facilities (including bank branches and medical office and surgical buildings) as well as the sale, replacement, and disposition of related facilities.
Representation of national and regional banks and financial institutions in connection with numerous multimillion-dollar real estate, corporate, and asset-based loans.
Representation of national real estate development companies in the acquisition, permitting, financing, construction, and eventual disposition of numerous projects throughout the United States.
Representation of companies at all stages of development, including start-ups, emerging growth companies, multinational public companies, and large institutional private businesses, including in connection with their merger and acquisition transactions.
